POLYPHONY AT BAIZ, SESSION 009

Recorded live at the “Polyphonie im BAIZ” (“Polyphony at the BAIZ”), Berlin, on October 15, 2024, featuring Michael Peters.

The guitarist Michael Peters resides in Kürten, near Cologne, in proximity to Karlheinz Stockhausen’s house. His music, which is predominantly improvised, deviates significantly from the mainstream and is often challenging to categorize. Consequently, the English music magazine WIRE has reviewed his albums in the “Outer Limits” section. The sound of his electric guitar is augmented through electronic means, particularly special software and live looping. Occasionally, he employs tape recorders, utilizing the old “Frippertronics” technique. His music can also incorporate sound collages and field recordings. His experimental ambient solo work is often described as “post-guitar music.”
