On April 21, 2023, I was set to play live on Mike Hunter’s ‘Music with Space’ radio show. Unfortunately, unlike in previous years, the studio on Princeton University’s beautiful campus wasn’t available. Mike Hunter now produces his show from another location that doesn’t have room for a live setup.
So, I decided to record an exclusive piece for the show together with George Bley in his basement studio, the so-called ‘4b-10 Zone.’ As with the previous Materiaal sessions 065 and 066, ‘Electric Ludyland,’ I took this opportunity to finally create music with my close friend and supporter George.
Christine Kriegerowski’s artwork is inspired by the German science fiction series ‘Raumpatrouille – Die phantastischen Abenteuer des Raumschiffes Orion‘ (‘Space Patrol – The Fantastic Adventures of the Spaceship Orion’), which aired in 1966, almost concurrently with the premiere of the television series Star Trek.
