Mats Hedberg & Bernhard Wöstheinrich – Crucibles and Beams

The journey of this magical album began with a chance meeting in Berlin, where Mats and Bernhard were introduced to each in person. Their admiration for the work of the other laid the foundation for a remarkable collaboration. During a short two-day tour stop in Berlin in 2017, the duo met at the club Tom Hemps, where they performed and recorded a fully improvised live album, enriched by the electronic rhythms of sound designer and percussionist Volker Lankow.

After this exhilarating live session, Mats and Bernhard continued their creative partnership from afar. They explored new dimensions of sound design and recording, with Mats inviting Bernhard to collaborate on a number of projects.

This album is not just a collection of tracks; it is a testament to the power of collaboration and the magic that unfolds when artists come together across distances. With every note, Mats and Bernhard invite listeners into their world of spontaneous creativity and sonic exploration, showcasing the beauty of improvisation and the deep connections that music can forge.
