In philosophy of mind, qualia are the raw, subjective “what it is like” aspects of conscious experience. They are the felt qualities of experiences, such as what it is like to see purple, taste coffee, feel pleasure, or hear a string note.

Introducing Qualia, a new ambient music series exploring the intimate textures of perception and sound.

This series will be a space for ongoing sonic exploration. Some pieces will be recorded traditionally; others will emerge from audio that has been stretched, granulated, substantially altered, or transformed in various ways into entirely new forms. Some of those tracks will blend these methods.
This series opens a wide creative field of experimentation and exploration in immersive, atmospheric ambient sound design.
