From a Kreuzberg basement emerges a band influenced by many musical styles: Techno, Minimal, Experimental, Wave, Kraut, Ambient, and Noise.
“Kollektion Eins” is a compilation that assembles tracks from various albums, like mosaic stones, to form a novel composition.

It all began when Lukas and Bernhard, in spontaneous jam sessions, explored the boundaries between noise, sound, and music. Lukas, who already had experience as a DJ and radio producer, shredded live outtakes and individual tracks from Bernhard’s various projects with his DJ console, creating a rhythmic foundation for Bernhard’s synthesizer and keyboard passages—the birth of the “Kombinat für recycelte elektronische Musik” (Combine for Recycled Electronic Music).
What started as a casual experiment quickly developed into a serious project. Other musicians joined, Mathieu Sylvestre (Real-time Sound Transformations) and Volker Lankow (Soundscapes & Percussions). Extensive jam sessions were subsequently meticulously edited and produced, turning them into sophisticated compositions, each piece a masterpiece in itself.
And the result is impressive: In just four years, Reichenhall has released no fewer than 12 albums! Each a concept album, a musical journey that captivates the listener.

This is an awesome idea – and the album is fantastic. While I don’t want to miss any Reichenhall releases, this compilation really hits the nail.
