Looking at the Kottbusser Tor roundabout from space, you can see a star-shaped structure. A caravan of musicians follows the smell of freshly baked baklava. Café Morgenstern appears before them in flickering light. As they enter, they disappear into the mist. The sound of a sewing machine fills their ears. Like free radicals, they make their way. They push open a skylight, look up at the night sky, and hear radio transmissions.

Like a merry-go-round, the sound pieces repeat on a rotating principle. Everything spins and twists like a bunch of amusement rides. Together they form a sonic backdrop to a fairground of curiosities. The undulating movement of the chain carousel can be seen from afar. Above this scenery, pilots experiment with self-crafted flying vehicles. Acrobats, ventriloquists and bear tamers are in ecstasy as the sound of engines, sonic booms and rides mix. Balloonists rise for the first time. The dance begins.

This album tells a fictional story; A group of puzzle freaks meet on the so-called Krautenberg (“Krauten Hill”) to hone their self-oscillating inventions. They are pursuing the goal to synchronize their appliances and to combine it into one great polygonic object, which, once started up, keeps being in motion eternally without any further external energy supply. This object takes its energy from a Brownian ratchet (“Molekulare Ratsche”), an imaginary nano machine that converts thermal energy into mechanical work at the molecular level. This device is being manually operated by Maxwell’s demon. The result of all these endeavors becomes an ever-growing conglomeration of sound!
