The Polyphony series for extraordinary music aims to open up new areas of sound and encourage spontaneous interaction between musicians.
This time Frey and Wöstheinrich have invited Volker Lankow.
A percussionist since the late seventies, Volker Lankow lives in Berlin, plays and collaborates in many different projects.
His solo projects, in which he develops his own vision of experimental sounds, drones and world music, are mainly created with electronics and acoustic percussion.
Recording of the live performance from April 19, 2023, at EMEAPP in Harleysville, PA.

TaboTago was originally a tribute to the legendary Edgar Froese, who, with Tangerine Dream, shaped one of the most influential and pioneering branches of Krautrock: the “Berlin School” with its magical sequencer ostinatos, surreal atmospheres, and soundscapes that remain unmatched to this day.
In their live performances, vast soundscapes are explored, ranging from dynamically excessive to deeply atmospheric. TaboTago has found its own identity between tradition and modernity. While the influences of Krautrock and the so-called Berlin School are still clearly audible, the band’s references also current styles of Electronica.
Thus, TaboTago’s concerts are always daring balancing acts, where the prepared and the unforeseen merge into a magical trip.

Deutsche Version

MaHalla is a unique cultural venue located in a historical, 3000 square meter former turbine hall. Featuring a well-preserved industrial patina and a ceiling height of over 12 meters, MaHalla hosts a variety of events where visitors can experience the extraordinary quality of this massive building. Of course we were very excited to get the chance to have our more or less first official stage appearance in this special place.
