Conrad Schnitzler (1937 – 2011) has been a prolific German experimental musician, he has been a major, though reclusive, figure on the European music scene since the late 1960s. Schnitzler was an early member of Tangerine Dream (1969 – 1970) and a founder of the band Kluster. He left Kluster in 1971, first working with his group Eruption and then focusing on solo works.
Bernhard met Conrad to do an interview for the German KEYBOARDS magazine in 2007.
There was an instant connection between the two, so Conrad gave Bernhard 4 CDs to to work on, i.e. to produce a new record from the source material.
The re-mix was done using an automatic self-referential audio process, the result of which was slightly re-arranged by Wöstheinrich afterwards.
A compelling abstract 62 minute landscape of industrial beauty.
