COOL SPRING: An album that began as improvisation, re-composed in the mixing studio, then performed again in response to the recording. The same and not the same.

Wöstheinrich, Rothenberg, and Nicholas began in the studio in Cold Spring, New York, bringing together their specific and different backgrounds. Rothenberg performs live with birds, whales, and bugs to gain direct inspiration from the natural world. Wöstheinrich comes out of the progressive rock tradition with years of experience creating undulating patterns with sequencers and synthesizers. Nicholas was a punk bass player and well-known hip hop engineer.
