released December 11, 2017 | Materiaal Series, Part XII | Bernhard Wöstheinrich and Leander Reininghaus were invited to perform for the opening of the exhibition “DOUBLE CUT – contemporary xylographies.”
The performance took place in a beautifully illuminated yet defunct car repair shop, complete with vintage cars still sitting on hydraulic lifts awaiting their mechanic’s attention.
Bernhard and Leander immersed themselves in the mood of this marvelous setting on a chilly autumn evening. They created an ongoing organic flow of music varying between alluring ambient soundscapes and surging electronica, driven by haunting melodic guitar leads.
Leander Reininghaus (D) has worked as guitarist, composer and producer for CD-, movie-, dance- and theatre productions as well as for exhibitions and multimedia events. His interest in livelooping (which he has performed on stage since 1986) and textural music led to the recordings and solo performances of “STARSCAPES – Music Inspired By Views Of Space.” He is currently a member of the bands Neues Glas, Ornah-Mental and TaboTago.
